Syracuse, N.Y. — The Syracuse Orange will travel to North Carolina State in search of its first road win of the season on Wednesday.
Syracuse, fresh off consecutive home wins over Wake Forest and then-No. 6 Florida State, is winless in seven games away from home this season.
North Carolina State is 12-2 at the PNC Arena this year. The Wolfpack is 14-8 overall and 3-6 in the ACC.
Syracuse’s record currently stands at 13-9 overall and 5-4 in the conference.
Game time is 7 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2 with Karl Ravech and LaPhonso Ellis on the call. Below is the list of channel numbers for ESPN2 in the Syracuse area:
The Syracuse Orange and North Carolina State Wolfpack will do battle inside the Carrier Dome this weekend, in an ACC matchup of two teams coming off losses last week. Syracuse was blown out by Clemson, and possibly will be without their quarterback this week. The Wolfpack lost their fourth straight game, as Florida State barely beat them, 24-20.
Eric Dungey, Syracuse’s quarterback, had to leave the game in the first quarter against Clemson. The ACC leader in passing yards and completions per game, Dungey’s status is still unknown, though many believe he will miss this Saturday’s tilt. The Orange had won two straight heading into the Clemson game, but were obviously manhandled by the Tigers in a 54-0 rout.
Last year, the two teams met in Raleigh, with the Wolfpack destroying the Orange, 42-29. New England Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett led the way for North Carolina State, throwing for 235 yards and two touchdowns. The win improved the Wolfpack’s record against Syracuse to 8-1 all-time.
If Dungey was healthy, the Orange would definitely have the better offense heading into this one. However, the NC State defense has the advantage over the Orange, and should be able to contain them on Saturday. It should be a solid ACC contest, that will likely go down to the wire.

The Orange are a completely different team without Dungey, who has established himself as one of the better quarterbacks in the ACC. Without him last week, the Orange sputtered on offense, but that was against one of the best teams in the country. NC State has a solid defense, but it will be nothing like they saw last week.
